I finished Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett today. IT. WAS. AWESOME. The vampires were amazing, and Granny Weatherwax's plan to take them down was something I never saw coming. Agnes Nitt was one of my favorite new characters, along with Vlad. Although, if I didn't know better, I would say that the whole Vlad/Agnes relationship was a parody of Twilight since Vlad is attracted to and intrigued by Agnes because he can't read Agnes's mind (which, unlike in Twilight, is actually explained in the book and relatively early).

One of my favorite things about this book is Terry Pratchett's ability to make the vampires both funny and completely evil. At one point, the vampires (who can effect people's minds) have everyone standing around, nodding and smiling while the Count tells them about their plan to take over the kingdom. My other favorite part is when the Count is telling everyone that things like fear of religious symbols and bursting into flamings in sunlight and such are all just in their heads and has them all drinking wine. Lacrimosa, his daughter, complains about it, and then get into a discussion in which we learn that rebelling vampire teens give themselves names like "Henry" and "Pam" and one even pretends he's an accountant. Apparently, prep is the vampire version of goth or emo. It was awesome.

Gah! People are bugging me to hurry up so we can watch South Park on the computer so that's all I've got to say about that at the moment, I guess.
